Nominate your NHS hero for a special one-off award

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is calling on people across the board area to nominate their local NHS hero for our prestigious annual Chairman’s Awards.

This year our awards will also celebrate the NHS 70th anniversary and will have a special unique Platinum rebranding.

The awards celebrate innovation and staff who go that extra mile to provide exceptional care for their patients.

There are four award categories open to the public:

  • The International Award – highlighting staff who have travelled overseas either as part of a team or individually to provide healthcare and/or education to those in developing countries or in countries in crisis
  • The Nursing Award – recognising nursing stars, an individual or a team, who have demonstrated the highest standards of care for their patients and the ethos of nursing
  • The Patient Centred Care Award – honouring an individual or team of staff who works in new and co-operative ways to tailor the best possible patient care
  • The Volunteer/Patient Ambassador Award – celebrates someone who provides outstanding help and support through volunteering or those who have provided patient opinions whether it is on a Public Partnership Forum within a HSCP or on a patients’ panel

NHSGGC chairman John Brown said: “These awards have really struck a chord with patients, visitors and staff, and every year we receive a high volume of nominations from right across the board area.

“Our awards are a brilliant opportunity to shine a light on our people who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional care and support. And it is particularly poignant in this special anniversary year.”
