Staff Information

With many activities and events planned across the city, Glasgow City Council, Police Scotland and other partner agencies are working with many organisations to support their operations, ensure safety and to minimise transport disruption.

We may ask some staff, where possible, to work from home so as to minimise any disruption that COP26 has on your day to day role. This request will be service and location specific and more information will be given to you at the appropriate time. If you are unable to work from home, please ensure that you give yourself more time to commute to your place of work as roads are expected to be busier and public transport services may be impacted, recommended time if we have a number.

There may be alternative arrangements for car parking at some sites. If any action is required, we will advise staff at the appropriate time. We would also encourage anyone who can, to continue to use public transport or active travel routes, where possible.

COP26 Summit

There will be a World Leaders’ Summit on 1st and 2nd of November. The city will see around 120 world leaders arrive to discuss the climate issues facing our planet.

Climate March

Planned for Saturday, 6th of November, the Climate March will allow people to come together in Glasgow to show support for tackling climate change and having their voices heard.

Glasgow City Council, Police Scotland and partner organisations are working with organisers to ensure the march both protects the fundamental right of individuals and organisations to organise and participate in public processions safely, and the need to minimise disruption to the wider community in Glasgow.

If you are intending to take part in any activism, then please be aware of the Board’s advice with regard to personal conduct outwith work. You can find our policies here:
