News : Introduction of Hexavalent Vaccine to Routine Childhood Vaccination Programme

From the 1st October 2017, babies born after the 1st August 2017 will receive the new hexavalent vaccine which includes protection against Hep B. The hexavalent vaccine will be offered in the routine childhood immunisation schedule at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. However, those babies at high risk of Hep B will continue to be immunised at birth and at one month of age with the monovalent HepB vaccine before commencing on the routine childhood schedule at 8 weeks.  See the PHPU Immunisation Special Newsletter (Aug 2017) for more details.
