The National Hand Hygiene Campaign for Scotland was launched in January 2007. Local Co-ordinators were employed to undertake activities that would raise awareness of Hand Hygiene and its importance in modern healthcare. Stefan Morton was employed in April 2007 as the NHSGGC Co-ordinator. The Campaign will run until April 2011 and evaluations are carried out on the effects of this. Local co-ordinators are found in every Scottish NHS Board area and are available for talks, presentations and demonstrations at public events.
The Project Team at Health Protection Scotland can be contacted on 0141 282 2902 or further contacts are available via the campaign website washyourhandsofthem.com.
