The team currently offers a selection of training programme to both statutory and non-statutory services within Glasgow relating to trauma and homelessness.
Introduction to the Trauma and Homelessness Team (2 hours)
This training can be delivered with the Personality Disorder and Homelessness Team. The Trauma and Homelessness Team envisages that this would form part of new staff induction.
Managing Disclosures Sensitively (1 day)
An introduction to working with trauma and provides a framework structure to enquiring and responding to disclosures.
Boundaries Training (1 day)
Develops participants’ understanding of what boundaries are in the context of professional and client relationships and the challenges these can present.
Moving on from Homelessness: The Impact of Trauma ( ½ day)
The aims of this training are: to raise awareness of the impact that a history of trauma may have upon client’s ability to engage in the process of gaining and maintaining a tenancy; to identify the types of trauma clients may have experienced and to consider how this might impact upon their mental health.
Childhood Sexual Abuse and Mental Health (½ day)
To increase understanding and awareness of why specific mental health difficulties develop following childhood sexual abuse. Provides an overview of the mental health difficulties associated with childhood sexual abuse.
The Trauma and Homelessness Team are happy to visit individual teams to present training providing there are 15 people or more in attendance. We are also available to deliver specific training upon request.
