Who the project is for:
Restart is an NHS mental health project that works in conjunction with Community Mental Health Teams, in patient and specialist services in the Greater Glasgow & Clyde area. The main focus of the project is to offer recovery based support to those living with severe and enduring mental health conditions. We achieve this through delivering vocational training, workshops and meaningful activities in several locations throughout the city. Our main training includes Computing Multi Media, Woodwork, Picture Framing, Stained Glass, Horticulture, Digital Photography and Catering. We also have a large selection of short half day course available.
By attending our various training areas, trainees have the opportunity to increase self esteem, confidence and find a sense of purpose & hope for their future. Our project has the support of three psychiatric nurses, fully trained instructors and support staff. Our staff have excellent all round knowledge and understand the complexities of mental health.
We work closely with trainees and help them set themselves realistic goals and targets, offer support & guidance, have regular meetings to check progress and also plan for future opportunities out with our project.
If you are in contact with your local Community Mental Health Team and would like further information please do not hesitate to contact us on the details below. We also offer the chance for people to come along for an interest visit before referral is made.
