What to expect when you attend the Podiatry service

We will work with you to create a care plan that helps support you with your foot health.  You may wish to bring along a friend, family member, carer to your appointment.  If you need an interpreter this can also be arranged for you in advance of the appointment.

At the appointment:

  • The Podiatrist will introduce themselves to you, by name and Job title ensuring that you are fully aware of whom you are seeing that day.

  • The Podiatrist will then confirm some personal details with you such as date of birth and address.

  • You will be asked to provide a medical history.

  • Next you will be asked to “tell us your story” regarding your foot problem.

  • We will work together to create a plan that helps you manage your Podiatry care.

  • A care plan will be discussed with you focusing on areas of greatest need.

  • If your care plan requires more than one appointment,  this will be discussed with you.

  • Your care plan will be reviewed at every visit and you will be involved in making any changes to the agreed care plan.
