Assessment

Patients referred to the Glasgow & Clyde Weight Management Service (GCWMS) will undergo an initial assessment.
The assessment will include questions about:

  • Diet and weight history
  • Physical health
  • Activity levels
  • Mood and well being
  • Motivation

The initial assessment allows patients to be directed towards the best treatment for them. This may include further assessment with a Clinical Psychologist  or a Physiotherapist.

Assessments are conducted in various venues depending on a patient's weight.

GCWMS is a structured education Programme.
Patients are seen in groups of no more than 16 people.

Our Programme offers advice on diet, nutrition and physical activity, underpinned by psychological approaches to support patients with their long term lifestyle change.
