NHS GGC are keen to ensure that school pupils have access to accurate information in relation to NHS careers and pathways and recognise the role providing advice and guidance in the school environment.
We are currently reviewing our programme of schools engagement and as soon as that has been completed we will ensure an update is posted on these pages.
In the interim, requests for NHS GGC to attend a careers or employer engagement event should be made using the form provided below.

NHS CAREERS INSIGHT PROGRAMME
Our current review of our programme of schools engagement has included the launch of a pilot programme - NHS Careers Insight. The programme was created by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and working in partnership with Glasgow City Council Education Department gave 12 senior phase pupils from 5 different schools in Glasgow privileged access to behind the scenes of the NHS.
The programme was a mixed delivery of class room based learning, hands on activities and departmental tours included exposure to 13 different careers and services across a range of job families.
The programme also focussed on ensuring that all entry routes in NHS roles were explored from entry level opportunities for school leavers and our apprenticeship programmes thorough to university graduate level positions.
This interactive programme was hosted on one of the largest hospital sites in Europe - The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the success of this pilot is seen as a starting point for developing a range of NHS Insight programmes which we can tailor for specific occupational groups e.g. Nursing, Healthcare Sciences, Medicine, Engineering etc and offered to all Local Authority Education Departments in our Board catchment area.
Our first group of participants to complete NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Career Insight Programme celebrate their achievement.
