Adoption and Fostering Policy
The purpose of this policy is to support and enable an employee who wishes to adopt or foster a child/children to take a period of leave to assist the family adjust to the new circumstances.
Fostering can vary in length of time from very short period to more prolonged periods of time and the Board aims to be as flexible as possible to support this.
Adoption leave is granted in line with the maternity leave and pay national terms and conditions and mirrors those arrangements. There is also the facility to have some short term time off pre-adoption.
Please note an amendment to this policy in that you will be entitled to accrue public holidays whilst on adoption leave.
