ILM (a City and Guilds Group business)

Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is an approved ILM centre.  ILM is the UK’s leading provider of leadership, management and coaching qualifications, and a City & Guilds Group Business.  ILM offers a specialist suite of qualifications ranging from Level 2 to Level 7, which are awarded by The City and Guilds of London Institute.

The current Level 3 programme is delivered over five days covering the following: Induction to the Programme, Organising & Delegating, Communication in the Workplace, Planning Change, Problem Solving & Decision Making and a Tutorial Session.

This programme is at Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 6 which is the equivalent to a Higher National Certificate (HNC). Delegates must therefore be prepared for appropriate level of study to achieve this award.

Delegates must complete four assignments:

  • three assignments associated with Organising & Delegating, Communication in the Workplace and Planning Change.
  • one work based assignment based on the Problem Solving & Decision Making session with additional support from the Tutorial Session.  Delegates need to identify a workplace problem which they or their team face and examine ways to resolve it. The word count for this assignment is between 1000 to 2000 words.

Delegates must have discussed and agreed with their line manager that this programme meets with development needs identified at the PDP Review meeting.
