Managing Difficult Conversations

Course overview:

The course is designed for those responsible for leading teams by developing personal skills in handling difficult conversations with staff and peers . The course will also explore good practice approaches to effective management of challenge. 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Experience handling difficult conversations and receive feedback on the effectiveness of their approach in a supportive environment
  • Explore options for managing challenging conversations well
  • Explore ways of encouraging positive dialogue and reducing unhelpful behaviours in the team
  • Prepare an action plan to transfer learning from the workshop into practice

Who should attend:

Any manager in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde who has responsibility for managing NHSGGC staff in their teams.  This includes managers employed in integrated Health and Social Care Partnerships who are not directly employed by NHSGGC.
