Developing Your Staff (People Management Module)

Course Overview:

Supporting the development of your staff is an essential part of your role.  It ensures that your team members develop their competence and confidence in order to provide the best possible service.  This module explores underpinning values and tools and techniques to support continuing development.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this module delegates will be able to,

  • recognise the value of supporting staff development in your service
  • identify ways to discover training and development needs
  • understand your role in supporting development
  • identify learning methods and supporting information on HR Connect

Who should attend:

Any manager in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde who has responsibility for managing NHSGGC staff in their teams.  This includes managers employed in integrated Health and Social Care Partnerships who are not directly employed by NHSGGC.

Pre-requisites:

Recommend that delegates complete the LearnPro module relating to the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework.

Duration: 4 hours.

Evaluation:

To ensure maximum impact of these modules we have introduced more extensive evaluation.

As part of the booking process you and your manager will be asked to consider your reasons for attending the module and how outcomes will be measured.  We will contact you and your manager approximately 10 weeks after the module to gather feedback on how your learning was applied.
