Acute Core Statutory and Mandatory Programme

Course overview:

The Acute OMG (Operational Management Group) recognises the requirement for existing staff to undertake statutory and mandatory training and to have this updated at regular intervals.

To support this process a training programme has been developed which is applicable to all Acute staff.

The following topics included in this programme are as follows:-

  • Adult Support and Protection
  • Employee Health and Wellbeing
  • Conflict Management
  • Control of Infection
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Information Governance
  • Health and Safety Awareness (including incident reporting and risk assessment)
  • Moving and Handling Theory

This development is aimed at streamlining the current approach to training delivery and ensuring that all our staff has equal access to training.

Who should attend:

All Acute Services staff will be required to attend this training with an update once every 3 years.

Line managers will be required to ensure that this training is prioritised for attendance by staff as well as including it as part of on-going KSF/PDP or related process discussions..

Pre requisites:

There are no formal pre requisites prior to attending however delegates must:

  • Be in their current post at least 18 months
  • Have completed their corporate induction including the Health Care Support Worker induction standards where applicable
  • Ensure all relevant professional development is up to date

The Core Programme should not be used for inducting new members of staff as separate arrangements and materials exist via the induction portal.
