|1 Day intermediate communication skills 1 - 4||This training is open to Registered Nurses, AHPs (experienced band 5 and above) and Doctors who are involved in complex/difficult/necessary conversations with patients and families. The training provides a structured evidence based approach to communication skills. This interactive day is facilitated by experienced trainers in communication and will include a variety of teaching techniques for example, scenario based group work, DVD skills exercises and interactive discussion. Participants are asked to bring examples of communication challenges, share their own experiences and explore the way the models and techniques used in the training will help improve practice.||classroom||link|

|2 day advanced communication skills 1 - 4||This training is open to Registered Nurses, AHPs (experienced band 5 and above) and Doctors who are involved in complex/ difficult/ necessary conversations with patients and families. The training provides a structured evidence based approach to communication skills. Over the 2 days the training builds and expands on the models and theories taught during the 1 day intermediate training session. It allows participants to refresh and review their current experience of communication issues through scenario base role play, reflective practice discussions and group experiential learning techniques. Each participant will be given an opportunity to use the models and techniques, to further develop their communication skills enabling them to deal more effectively with challenging/difficult conversations. This course is facilitated by experienced trainers and will be particularly useful for senior staff and managers who are involved in significant conversations for example, around the complexities of care, breaking bad news or decision making.||classroom||link|

|Emotional Intelligence - all priorities||This two day module is part of ready to lead aimed at all professions and organisational areas and at bands 6-8 (5 by exception) and nominations for limited places from directorate managers and OD advisers.
Emotional Intelligence impacts on many aspects of our personal and professional relationships, our effectiveness, well-being, communication and self confidence. By being more aware of the impact of the role that emotions play in personal effectiveness, and the building and maintenance of constructive professional relationships, participants will be more able to channel emotions into constructive behaviour thus enabling them to be more consistent and professional. This two day module is part of ready to lead aimed at all professions and organisational areas and at bands 6-8 (5 by exception) and nominations for limited places from directorate managers and OD advisers.
|Health Behaviour Change Training - 1 Hour Course - 1 4||Lifestyle choices like what we eat, how active we are, the amount of alcohol
we drink, if we smoke and life circumstances e.g. finances etc have a significant
impact on the health of individuals and communities. Many of us in our day
to day work have the opportunity to talk with our client group about lifestyle
choices and how they impact on health and wellbeing. NHS Greater Glasgow
and Clyde have developed a range of health behaviour change training to
support person centred methods of talking about and supporting health
This training is suitable for those with little or no
training in health behaviour change and who have an opportunity to talk to
their client group about lifestyle.

|Managing Investigations||The aims of this half day session are to give practising managers an understanding of the interface between Significant Clinical Incident reporting and investigative enquiry techniques. The session will raise awareness of RCA tools, ‘good’ enquiry techniques and robust report writing. When combined effectively each can be used to underpin an investigation and enable staff to provide ‘accurate and detailed evidence’ in reports and recommendations during investigatory processes.||Classroom based||link|
|MAYBO Conflict management, Physical interventions & Safer holding techniques - 1 3 4||the course is designed to deliver training for staff who work with a level of risk relating to aggression and violence in their workplace;
The course helps them to understand the dynamics of violence and aggression in healthcare;
It also provides training on the rights & legal responsibilities of staff who manage the risk as well as exploring the emotional factors influencing aggressive behaviour;
|SAGE & THYME (Foundation)||This Workshop is licensed and is appropriate for all staff groups.
The Sage & Thyme Workshop is based upon evidence relating to core communication skills, psychological assessment and support. The three hour workshop, run by three facilitators, teaches up to 30 delegates on how to use a structured approach for getting in and out of a conversation with someone who is upset or distressed, while providing basic psychological support. The workshop uses a mix of small group work, lectures and interactive rehearsals based on participant’s scenarios to teach and demonstrate a structure approach to noticing distress, hearing concerns and responding helpfully.
