The new South Glasgow University Hospital and Royal Hospital For Sick Children will deliver a truly gold standard of healthcare on the Govan site, with maternity, children’s and adult acute hospitals, and state of the art laboratory services all together on the one campus. It will also have the biggest Critical Care complex and one of the biggest Emergency Departments in Scotland.
Brookfield Multiplex, are constructing the new 1109 bedded Adult Hospital and a 256 bedded Children’s Hospital which together will be the largest single NHS hospital build project in Scotland.
The campus will also have 3 new multi story car parks and surface car parking giving a total of 3500 parking spaces.
Following the opening of the hospitals the final stage will be to demolish some of the old estate (surgical block) to complete the landscaping to the front of the new hospitals, this is planned to be completed summer 2016.
