We recently carried out a survey of local mothers and these are some of the comments they made about Inverclyde CMU:

“I had gone to Inverclyde's maternity unit for my ante-natal care and I was very unwell during the first and second trimester of my pregnancy and the midwives there were fantastic, very friendly and helpful.”

“Although I did not deliver at Inverclyde Royal, I valued all the ante-natal care I received there. The local, personal care was excellent. I felt that there was excellent continuity of care at the unit, both in the ante-natal CUMCS and the day assessment unit, which I also attended. I also used the unit post-natally for advice and support when I had problems with breast feeding. Once again, I was impressed by the quality of care and the continuity of seeing midwives who had looked after me in pregnancy.”

“I believe it is a vital service to people living in the area.  It provides support both during and after pregnancy and should be a service that continues to function.”

“I attended the CMU three times a month throughout my pregnancy and the care and attention was fantastic.  The only complaint I have is that I was not able to have my baby there because I was required to have a C-Section.”

“The care provided at Inverclyde pre-birth was exceptional.”

“I thought the level of care was fantastic.  I feel that I was in very safe hands.  Midwives and consultants were very good at explaining what was happening and why.  I sent my midwife a thank you card afterwards because the level of care was so good.  Also the level of care in the ward for the few days after was great too (so was the homecare too).  Keep up the good work.”

“The unit provided me with excellent antenatal care. The midwives and consultants were very reassuring and caring. It would be a shame if this service was not available.”
