Why is 18 weeks the new Standard?

Feedback from patients, and other evidence, suggested that 18 weeks is the length of time that patients see as an acceptable wait.

NHS GGC has been working hard over the past few years to bring down patient waiting times.  We have seen great results and thousands of patients have been treated faster as a result.  However we want to build on this success and take it further to end the anxiety that waiting for treatment can bring.

Our Pledge:

We are committed to getting your treatment started within 18 weeks of your GP requesting it.
