Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I attended dermatology on March 22 for removal of growth on my left arm. The procedure lasted about 45 minutes and the treatment was handled in a considerate and effective manner. Everything was explained in detail, there was no pain involved, the consultant was present to supervise the procedure, and all the staff were courteous and friendly and reassuring. A superb episode of care and a credit to the department!
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I am a consultant within NHSGGC. I would prefer to remain anonymous. However I need to thank the ED at QEUH today 30/3/18. I have no idea who the consultant was but my mother in law was there as a patient; both she and my sister in law who brought her there could not speak highly enough of the care she had. As a medical professional I was delighted to hear this. As a relative with medical knowledge I was impressed by the treatment she had. I was particularly happy to hear how quickly she saw a consultant. He inspired confidence and they felt reassured. I was impressed by the timely nature of her investigation. Thanks to all.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - I was taken by ambulance to accident and emergency today. The way I was treated by every staff member that I came across was excellent. I cannot thank them enough for their very professional and friendly manner. The ambulance guys were fabulous as were all the Doctors and nurses I seen today. A fabulous hospital. Thank you very much.
Inverclyde Royal Hospital - I was referred to A&E Inverclyde on the 29th March 2018 by my GP as the RAH in Paisley was full. I cannot praise everyone enough. The receptionist was lovely then the admission nurse was so friendly. As the nurse was completing paperwork the doctor was already hovering waiting to see me. I'm only 43 and had been experiencing missing heartbeats. I cannot thank the doctor enough for being so empathetic and taking the time to run another ECG even though I had had one previously - this time he made sure he could see the dropped heartbeats and was able to confirm exactly what was wrong. He reassured me more than he knows - probably one of the nicest doctors I've had the pleasure to meet. Thank you
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I was referred by my GP to the palpitations clinic at cardiology at the RAH. The service I received was outstanding the physiologist led service was excellent. Clear explanation and very reassuring the staff were very professional and caring.
Stobhill Hospital (New) - I have attended a colposcopy appointment today, the 29th of March. The doctor, staff nurse and student nurse, receptionist couldn’t have been any more comforting, friendly, informative, and supportive than they were! Thank you. As worried as I was I left feeling supported by the staff team today.
Stobhill Hospital (New) - All the staff I saw were very professional, friendly and reassuring. Overall it made it a positive experience.
Royal Hospital for Children - Having been a paediatric nurse for 25 years, it's not often I am on the other side, but having just spent a week as with our son as an inpatient, I feel praise is much deserved. I work in the ED at RHC, therefore I am fully aware of the pressures that ward 2C are under daily. However, every single member of staff took the time to talk to our son and fully ensure he was prepared for every procedure. The support shown to his dad and me by both our own staff, when he came in quite sick, but then ENT and 2C staff was outstanding. I know they don't really have the time to spend 15 minutes talking a terrified 8 year old, I know they don't have the staff and probably haven't had a break for 7 hours, but no-one would ever know. Every member of staff we met was a credit to themselves and their profession. Granny even said this too and she doesn't work there!! Thank you so much everyone.
Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre - Hi I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to all the staff of treatment room A, the reception staff and the nursing staff who were all absolutely fantastic during my treatment at the Beatson. I am very grateful for their professionalism, their kindness and their support. They are all first class and I am very grateful.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I spent 6 days in ward 28 of the RAH from 13th to 19th March. I wanted to comment on how lovely, professional, friendly and genuinely caring the staff were in this ward. Both day shift and night shift staff. The staff were also very ‘on the ball’ and I observed excellent hygiene/infection control from every member of staff that came within view. Thank you for taking care of me and getting me back on my feet.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - I’d been in Glasgow an hour (from Newcastle upon Tyne) when I tripped over the pavement in Argyll Street on 20th March. Blood everywhere. Kind passersby picked me up and brilliant taxi driver brought me to you for free! (Gave him a couple of quid for a tip). Very well patched up by lovely doctor from Kelso and his colleague. Well done A&E Glasgow Royal plus the lovely people of Glasgow.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - I would like to comment on the excellent care, great compassion and dedication shown to my mother by Nurse Sandra McCallum Ward 50/51 General Medicine. She is a credit to the nursing profession.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I can’t praise the staff in the Day Services Unit enough. I was looked after so well and made to feel at ease from the minute I walked in. A credit to the NHS, outstanding!
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I had to bring my elderly, disabled and very frail father in last night after a fall. I just wanted to highlight the exceptional staff. From start to finish they were all helpful, friendly and kind. Very patient with my dad. I know how busy the A&E was and also the pressures staff are under which made our treatment even more worthy of thanks. Please pass this onto the A and E staff.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I’d like to thank everyone on ward 68 for my care last week. A lovely friendly atmosphere on the ward but still professional, an ideal mix to help make my treatment and stay there much easier. It is greatly appreciated.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - Hi I just want to say thank you for the wonderful treatment I received whilst in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I unfortunately had a toe amputated the surgeons and staff who looked after me were nothing short of amazing. This includes the night shift staff. I also lost my glasses in the hospital although I wasn't aware it was there where I lost them but someone found them and sent them to my house after my discharge when I was about to buy a new pair. Thank you from the bottom of my heart you're all amazing.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I have just been discharged from ward 6c of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after a three week stay as an in patient. I cannot praise, enough, the quality of my treatment by doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff. I was treated with kindness and good humour by everyone with whom I came in contact. The physical environment of the hospital is conducive to getting better. I am lost in admiration.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I cannot praise the staff on ward 63 enough for the expert care I have been given. Mr Grivas and his team have provided expert medical care. Mr Siddiqi the interventional neurologist who carried out my diagnostic procedure did so with utmost professionalism and explained the procedure thoroughly. Thank you.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - Admission to Surgical HD and Wd 63 GRI - I was admitted as an elective patient back in November 2017 under the care of General Surgery for a pretty big procedure (well 3 to be precise). I spent a week after that 8hr op in Surgical HD and the caring staff where just amazing. Every person I came into contact with so kind and caring and really helped a lot at a time when I really wasn’t very well at all. I was then moved into ward 63 for further recovery and again the care I received was second to none. This was my second admission under the care of general surgery and I must say I really am so impressed with the staff that work within that service. All staff on ward 63 are definitely a credit to the NHS as were the staff in surgical HD. Everyone is always quick to pick up on the negative these days but I must say as a member of NHS staff these guys are just amazing. I ended up in hospital for a total of 3 weeks and the staff were amazing the whole time I was there. I was a scary time for me as at times I really wasn’t well but they made it so much easier. Keep up the great work guys you all deserve so much praise for the care that you give. Thank you all again
Princess Royal Maternity - A wonderful experience with caring, calm & considerate staff. Thank you to all involved in my care! Amazing staff! What a team!
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I had an appointment yesterday for an hsg. I was extremely worried and anxious about this mainly due to stories I had heard from other people regarding the procedure. I have to say your 3 staff performing the procedure were amazing. I was taken in straight away so didn't have to sit in the waiting room worrying anymore. The staff reassured me and made me feel more at ease and explained what they were doing. The procedure was nowhere near as bad as I had anticipated and this is down to your excellent staff. I was informed straight away after the procedure that there were no issues. I also found the aftercare leaflet helpful also. Thank you for making an experience I was extremely worried about bearable.
Royal Hospital for Children - I would just like to thank all the staff in A&E for the fantastic care that you gave to my son after arriving in A&E with a broken arm. Service we received was second to none and everyone was fantastic and attentive even although they were absolutely run off their feet. Also the staff in receiving ward 2C were brilliant too. Could not have received better treatment so a big thanks to all the staff. They were amazing.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - Inpatient to ward aru1 . Admitted with breathing problems, pain and discomfort, nursing staff at ward aru1 where fantastic and although the ward was busy care and attention I received was faultless and of a high standard, keep up the good work . Special thanks to John the Staff Nurse.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - Wow what can I say. I was an inpatient for 16 weeks and only on 2 occasions did I not enjoy my meal, the rest were great. Well done to the catering department.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - I have just undergone surgery through ward 32 Gynaecology ward and I am full of praise for how that ward works from start to finish the NHS service / treatment was first class. Every member of staff that I met were caring, helpful, friendly and above all professional. Thank you for all that you do, we are really lucky to have the NHS and long may it continue.
Victoria Hospital (New) - On arrival for my appointment I was taken before my scheduled time. It was discovered that I would need a small surgical operation and was advised that this could be done during this visit. Good service and helpful staff.
Royal Hospital for Children - Hi there in the times on only ever hearing negativity about the NHS let me tell you about our experience. My son has recently had open heart surgery under the care of Mr Peng and his team. The team of anaesthetists nurses in ICU Rhoda (sorry if spelling is wrong) Elaine, Erin and Steph and all doctors involved in my sons care and all the staff from ward 1E be it nurses or domestics your care of our son has been absolutely fantastic. I really don't know how to thank you all so much. So please keep doing what you are all doing much. Love x
Princess Royal Maternity - I just wanted to take a moment to thank staff at Princess Royal Maternity. Bernie and Lisa were amazing and kept me so calm and supportive during labour. Bernie finished her shift before I had the baby but came to check up on me later that day. An auxiliary nurse on the ward called Hannah was also amazing. I was struggling with breastfeeding but with her attention and words of encouragement I got it! A very emotional time and that extra attention to detail went a long way. Four months later I am still breastfeeding and will continue to do so. Recently one of my mummy friends wrote a blog about her birthing experience here also and I was amazed to learn that Bernie also birthed her child. Her blog can be found online countrymumkin.org
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I want NHSGGC to know about the excellent care I received from my GP Dr Kirkwood at the MacLean practice in Eastwood health centre and Dr John Yates and his team at QEUH acute receiving. On 22nd of February 2018 Dr Kirkwood was prompt in her diagnosis of my acute chest infection. I was sent to QEUH under the care of Dr Yates and his team. The care I received was excellent and I am making a good recovery. The follow up consultation with Dr Yates and check chest X-ray appointments are already arranged. I feel this excellent care is worthy of note at a time when the NHS are under such scrutiny and subject of negative press comment. Thank you once again.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - Attended my GP regarding a breast lump. The following day I received a call inviting me to attend an outpatient appointment the very next day at the breast clinic. The surgeon was really friendly and put me at ease. The radiology staff were really lovely and supportive throughout the process.. After the tests were done I was sent back round to see my consultant for my results. A fabulous one stop service ! Keep up the good work team . Their all total stars x
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - Today I visited the out of hours GP to have my 13month old son checked for a rash and viral infection. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and spent yesterday in hospital for dehydration. The nurse who seen my son noticed that I did not look well and asked me for a urine. Once she tested it she noted that I had a UTI and had the GP see me. I am very thankful that she done this as I would have gotten worse. She was very nice and explained everything to me and spent time to make sure I had water. I would really appreciate if someone can acknowledge her hard work and dedication in this instance. I may have her name somewhat incorrect but if I remember right it is Nurse Rae Craig.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - After reading some comments online about waiting 4 hours or more I was pleasantly surprised to be assessed by a doctor, sent for an X-ray and diagnosed in little over an hour and a half, on a Friday night.
Royal Hospital for Children - Our son was born on 10th June 2017 and needed some help with breathing. As hours passed he became more tired and after a day he was incubated and we were transferred to the neonatal unit at the royal hospital for sick children. The level of care given to our son in those few difficult days was second to none and we will be forever grateful for the compassion which was shown to us by the staff. What a phenomenal team of people, thankyou.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - Over the past few months I have been attending the Haematology Dept. for a blood disorder which included some scans. The treatment I have received and the professionalism of the staff has been outstanding and the waiting times for my scans were well within what I was expecting. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at the RAH.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - Attended A&E today which was very busy, however all staff I encountered from domestic, reception, nurses and X-ray staff and porters were friendly and informative. Despite being so busy, was seen and home again within 2 hours. Excellent service from excellent staff!!
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I had an emergency caesarean section in November. I wanted to comment that the surgical team I had was absolutely wonderful. As stressful as it was, the team made it as positive an experience as we could have wanted. Everyone did a fabulous job but we wanted to make a special mention of the anaesthetist (-siologist?) - a young woman we believe is named Faith. She was incredibly talented and professional, as well as empathetic. Hats off to the entire team!
