Royal Hospital for Children, Scan - I just want to say how fantastic the staff where who dealt with my son and I when we attended for his scan. So helpful happy and cheery nothing was too much.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E, and Rheumatology - I want to thank everyone at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for all the care and attention I received there when I was recently admitted as an emergency with temporal arthritis. Throughout that night I was only half aware of the wonderful team of experts who were working on me, and it was thanks to their expertise that my condition was quickly diagnosed and treated before any serious long term damage occurred. I was very impressed with all the facilities at the new hospital. I found it extremely helpful, especially when I was so ill, to be in a quiet and peaceful environment. I was very impressed with the room and private bathroom along with the soundproof door that prevented my being disturbed by other patients. All this makes it a lot easier to recover quickly. I received the very best of attention from the nurses and other staff, who were friendly, kind, professional, and always willing and quick to see to my needs. As a vegan, I had been worried about what food would be available in a hospital, but I needn't have worried. The choice was excellent, with more choice than I have seen even in the best of hotels. Thank you for making my first visit to hospital as an inpatient such a positive experience.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E, Baby or Child - Excellent service at children's A&E on Friday night. Facilities great and staff beyond fantastic.


Royal Alexandra Hospital, Rheumatology (Joints/Bones) - I have just returned home from a week staying on ward 23 following a fracture. I would like to praise the excellent staff for the care and attention they gave to all the patients. The ward was scrupulously clean and being able to keep in touch with family and friends via wifi made so much difference to my mental state that I cannot offer enough praise. Many thanks for what was a very happy experience.


Victoria Infirmary, A&E , General Surgery - I was an nursing auxiliary for 15 years and always prided myself in my work I went that wee bit further just to see my patients smile. Two years ago I took unwell unexpectedly, over this time I have been through many departments and I cannot praise each and every person that has cared for me and still are as a outpatient finally. I have no words that can express my gratitude to every member of the old Victoria Infirmary. It has been a long two years and if it wasn't for the dedicated team there I would not be here writing this. It is not the health care they gave me but the laugh and joke and treating the person not just the illness. I could not have been in better hands; The Old Victoria will be greatly missed.


Royal Alexandra Hospital, Cardiology, and Gastroenterology - I spent 4 days in acute medical receiving and I cannot praise the unit enough. It is a very busy ward but the staffs never fail to treat the patients with courtesy and respect. I observed the thoroughness that all nursing and medical staff took to assess new patients on the ward, particularly the older patients to ensure they were getting a picture of their wellbeing and home environment. Their questioning techniques were exceptional and were done in a very caring manner. I couldn't have been better looked after by the nurses and they did their best to make me feel better, even though I was felling rubbish! The ward was spotless and was kept so by a friendly team of workers. Even though my appetite was poor the food was excellent. Healthy, tasty and well presented - what a surprise after all you hear in the press. The fresh orange with the breakfast was better than I've had in hotels, I'll have you know! Well done to those responsible. The only negative point I would have is that I felt that I hadn't really had the opportunity to discuss my situation properly with medical staff while I was in. I did this with my GP after discharge. Individual doctors were very good at answering questions but at 4am in the morning, the questions may not have been the ones I needed to be asking. I was admitted with a complaint but a serious side effect of migraine medication had come to light affecting my heart and this was not really explained properly to me. However, as you can see from the rest of my statement, my overall experience in the RAH was, under the circumstances, a positive one and I would like to wholeheartedly thank the whole team who contributed.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Scan - Excellent staff within the Neurology scanning department. Helpful & friendly and helped make me feel Comfortable & welcome. An appointment which I was dreading turned out to be quite a pleasurable experience


Stobhill Hospital (New), X - Ray - Dropped in for an x-ray today and was in and out within 15 minutes - great speedy service - Thank you.


Stobhill Hospital (New) - I have been attending Rheumatology for around one year and just wanted to comment on the level of care I have experienced at Stobhill. I have been looked after by Dr McEntegart and both Sisters Liz McIvor and Vicky Toner supported by the nursing staff and also Diane and Craig from Physiotherapy. I have to say that the level of care, advice and treatment I have received has been completely outstanding. They have been both caring and informative at every stage and whether I get to where I hope to with the treatment they all have been such a tremendous support to me.


Royal Hospital for Children, Baby or Child - Visit to Southern General paediatric A&E, on Sat 15 Aug, ending in overnight stay for observation. Care was excellent, nurses and doctors not only technically great, but caring, empathetic and respectful to both parent and child. Thank you to all the team from a grateful mum!


Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Gastroenterology (Digestive system), Respiratory (Breathing/Lungs) - I write on behalf of my family to express our profound gratitude for the care received by my late father during his last admission to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in July 2015. The professionalism, compassion and humanity provided by all staff (support/nursing/medical) was exemplary and a considerable source of comfort. All too regularly we hear negative comments about the performance of the NHS which continues to deliver an incredible service despite ever increasing pressures. Once again our sincere thanks. Please convey our appreciation to all at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, General Surgery - I was in on 11/08/2015 for total knee replacement and from the moment I arrived until I went home on 14/08/15 my care was outstanding.


Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Stroke - My mother in law was admitted to the stroke unit at IRH in April of this year and her care from all the members of the stroke team was exemplary. In addition to giving her high quality care the staff took time to support her husband. They were also very good at communicating with the family in a range of ways- telephone calls, informal chats in the ward about her progress and formal meetings to discuss treatment and discharge planning. While she did not recover fully and discharge home was not possible thanks to the care she had during her acute illness she is doing extremely well in a nursing home.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Gastroenterology (Digestive system) - My father has had outstanding care both in the HDU and now on Ward 8D. The consultants have been willing to speak to me to explain in detail his condition and all the staff I have dealt with has been helpful. One comment - you need much improved signage in such a large hospital.


Princess Royal Maternity, Baby or Child - My son was born at the princess royal at 29 weeks weighing 2lb 11 oz, he is celebrating his 7th birthday today, thank you!


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Dermatology (Skin) - I visited the new hospital for the first time on 13 August. The team of red shirted guides were plentiful, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and cheery. They are a credit to the hospital. Thanks to them, I was directed to exactly the right place in the huge building.


Victoria Hospital (New), E N T - I attended for ENT day surgery recently and cannot praise the staff enough. From the consultant surgeon and anaesthetist to all the nursing staff and admin on reception desk. All worked efficiently and with a lovely friendly manner. Had a similar procedure last year and with the same positive experience.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E - Lady was concerned when she heard her mother was being admitted to QEUH. However her experience of the staff, care and services have been excellent and wanted to feed that back. The only down side was that they had to wait for over an hour for a trolley and felt it was a waste of time for ambulance transport waiting around all that time.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, E N T - I was admitted for same day surgery. Reception staff was helpful and very pleasant. The nursing staff that admitted me and prepared me for theatre did a good job, explaining everything and making me comfortable. The same applies to the staff in the theatre waiting area. I was kept overnight in ward 11B where I was again very well looked after, all my needs being seen to. It was only a short stay but I was impressed by the care shown to me and by the professionalism of all staff.


Royal Alexandra Hospital, A & E - Hi just wanted to compliment all the staff at A&E who dealt with my disabled daughter Aileen on Saturday 8 August. From reception triage consultant x-ray they were all fantastic. Many thanks to all.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Cardiology (Heart) - I attended the hospital with my mother on 10th august at 9.30 and the service supplied by the volunteer manager was superb we also had great service at the cardiology dept. The volunteer manager got a wheelchair to aid my mother as she realised she was struggling with her mobility.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Stroke - My feedback is ultimately praise; I do have a two issues that I felt and heard from staff and fellow patients that have to be addressed as a matter of principle. Please have a mechanism installed for porters to flash there badge at or something as this 19 century where porters still have to bang you bed / wheelchair against to access other areas, I am well aware of fire regulations but surely in this all singing all dancing hospital this practise can be abolished. Point 2, Please reduce the heating from a constant 25 degrees in wards, it is totally uncomfortable. I hope you can address these issues then I will whole heartedly support the spend on this amazing Hospital.


Stobhill Hospital (New), Women’s Health - I had an out-patient procedure done yesterday and just wanted to send an email to convey my thanks to the staff in Clinic F. I was insanely nervous but the Doctor was very easy to talk to. The nurses I encountered were lovely and helped me calm down. I cannot thank them enough. There is a lot of bad press about the NHS at the moment and I think people forget the good they do and how much work staff does on a daily basis. I just wanted to say that I appreciate the work you do and that I really don't care if I have a long wait in the waiting room, I only care about getting treated by people who care and who understand what it feels like to be a patient which is what I received at Stobhill hospital. Thanks again.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Respiratory (Breathing/Lungs) - From admission to discharge, staff service was excellent (friendly and professional) as were the facilities. Catering options for vegetarians very limited and could be improved (two days in a row the main consisting of macaroni cheese). Discharge 2.5 hours late due to delay in writing and fulfilling prescription - would suggest this should be done the night before discharge to facilitate a timely exit and allow for the bed to be reallocated.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E, Cardiology (Heart) - I was referred to IAU by my GP on 30th July and arrived around 10am. I was seen almost immediately and from then until I was discharged around 4pm on 31st July I have nothing but praise for all the staff - cleaner (in AR2), catering staff (in IAU and ARU2), nursing staff (in IAU, ARU2 and from cardiology), doctors (in IAU, ARU2 and from cardiology), pharmacist, porters and the guide who got us to IAU in the first place! Apologies if I've missed anyone out! The kindness was second to none, the care excellent and the explanations of what was happening, both in terms of medical information and about practicalities to do with delays, transfers to wards etc, were always very clear and comprehensible. Thank you all very much.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Neurosciences - My husband was recently discharged from IRH, Greenock and was to await an out-patients appointment with Neurology dept. After a week or so I phoned to find out how long we may expect to wait for an appointment, explaining that we were due to go on holiday within a 2 week window. Due to his symptoms we were not sure if we would be able to go away - unsure if he would be able to fly. I was told an appointment would be approx. 6 weeks away. Once I spoke to a lovely girl at Southern General Neurology Appointments Dept she pulled out all the stops to ensure my husband was seen within the week. Words failed me - she definitely went well above and beyond what she was required to do and really helped us out. We can't thank her enough and full praise where it is due. If everyone had a slice of this girl the NHS would be a fantastic institution. Many thanks to this member of staff for being so wonderful.


Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Staff, and Treatment - I've emailed General Enquiries because I do want to name 3 specific staff on Ward 29 in Glasgow Royal Infirmary, who cared so well for my sick relative in the last hours before my relative died. Its positive feedback only that I want to give and I want the specific individuals to know what they did that made the difference from my perspective as a relative. I also want the hospital to know about these 3 individuals, in order that their contribution can be recognised. When General Enquiries come back to me, I'll give more details.


Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Staff, A & E - Hi, just wanted to thank the doctor who saw my 3 year old daughter's eye today. (31/07) We were really impressed with her lovely, warm manner with my daughter and friendly professional manner with me. She really helped to put us at ease and we felt we were in very safe hands. My daughter is absolutely fine now. Very thankful to this doctor for a job well done.
