William Cullen Prize

The William Cullen Prize for Excellence in Teaching and the William Cullen Prize for Service Innovation are awarded in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

William Cullen Prize for Innovation

Dr Graham Naismith and the Clyde IBD Team have developed a modern and dynamic IBD Service to better serve the individual needs of patients. They have taken the challenges faced by NHS Scotland and have enabled patients to take ownership over management of chronic disease. Their work has now been shared nationally and their approaches adopted widely in other areas of the Health Service.

William Cullen Prize for Teaching

This year’s Teaching Award winner is the General Psychiatric team from Leverndale Hospital. The unit’s performance within the GMC National Training Survey produced the most green flags for a training department and a green flag for overall satisfaction. Dr Wai Imrie, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Dr Stephen Byers, Consultant Psychiatrist, will be collecting the award on behalf of the team.
