Celebrating Success 2013

Our Health Board is proud of the achievements of our staff and our Chairman and Chief Executive were delighted to be able to recognise that success at an inaugural Celebrating Success staff event held in Glasgow Caledonia University on September 26th.

More than 250 staff from across NHSGGC attended the informal gathering to showcase some examples of their work in delivering top quality patients care and first class services across all sectors of our work.

Hosted by Chairman Andrew Robertson and supported by The Herald newspaper, the audience was made up of 2013 Chairman’s Award nominees and our local FTFT (Facing The Future Together) local award winners.

Speakers were Robert Calderwood, NHSGGC Chief Executive, and Magnus Llewellin, editor of The Herald.

The award winners were wide ranging, covering regional services, partnerships, patient experience and diagnostics.

Praising the skill, caring qualities, dedication and sheer professionalism of the nominees and award winners, Andrew said:

“The depth of quality and commitment to patient care by staff is heartening.  The skills of the administrative, cleaning and support staff who help run our services and keep our systems running is equally inspiring.

“The leadership provided by our management teams is of great assurance to both myself and the Board.”

And he added:  “I congratulate every one of you and thank you for your part in ensuring NHS services continue to strive to improve and deliver modern, safe effective and efficient services to the population we serve.”

Andrew also thanked Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) for their continued support of the Chairman’s Awards of which the outright winners will be announced at our Annual Review in the Thistle Hotel on the afternoon of November 18th.

Guests were presented with a commemorative edition of The Herald, which provided details of all the FTFT winners and 2013 Chairman’s Award nominees
