Alison Anderson’s work within the mortuaries service in NHSGGC has taken her too many parts of the world over the past 20 years.
Her expertise has been called upon when deployed on a number of occasions to assist with the identification and repatriation of the deceased following acts of war and natural disasters throughout the world including the Balkans and to the recent Asian Tsunami disaster.
She was also recently called upon to assist the Commonwealth War Graves Commission at Fromelles in France where she was closely involved in the identification and reburial of WWI soldiers.
But recently her dedication led to a very well deserved call to attend somewhere closer to home – to receive an MBE in Buckingham from HRH Prince Charles.
Alison is also heavily involved in the professional organisation, AAPT (Association of Anatomical Technologists), and works closely with the Home Office in Emergency Planning.
