MacKinnon House, Addiction - Alcohol , Addiction - Drugs , Acute Mental Health - I was recently admitted to this place and my memory comes and goes , wish I could somehow remember most events , it’s a work in progress but found the staff to be excellent and the patients there were well looked after..
Eriskay House, Addiction/Alcohol - I was lucky enough to get a bed in Eriksay house, I have to say it took me a few times of trying & going through alcohol detoxification. I didn't know what to expect when I entered into detox but the staff where unbelievable for the first time in a long while I felt like a human being again. Slowly but surely the help & encouragement has been in my own opinion a life saver for me, as if I hadn't received this help including from my CPN I know I wouldn't be here today. I now am back in employment and moving on with my life like any other normal person but I will never forget the help & support I received. I am for every grateful & would say to anyone that is in the same position as myself, NEVER GIVE UP. This service is invaluable but more importantly the staff are truly fantastic.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Respiratory - I would like to praise the nurse named Kimberly, who during my stay, made me feel so much less anxious due to her lovely caring mannerisms. She may be young but has more compassion in her than most of the other nurses. Outstanding!!xx
Royal Hospital for Children, A & E - They were brilliant with my son.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - Just had a planned three day stay. Access is good although parking is awful at visiting. All disabled slots full. Admission was easy at main entrance. Admission in ward was excellent, felt like I was accepted and notes and information gathered sympathetically. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and professional and treated with great kindness and dignity. Ward cleanliness was very good. I know there has been bad press on food in hospital but I found it very pleasant, tasty and hot. Pity our ward was on disposable crockery. Special thanks to recovery staff, I needed to wait a week while and they were very supportive. Great bunch of people.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E - I just want to thank all the doctors and nurses and all the backup staff I was very sick with pneumonia but I received the very best of treatment. The staff were very professional and fully caring. I'm very grateful to them all indeed.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, A & E - My mother was admitted via A&E to Ward 6D recently. My brother, who was with her, could not praise the staff enough throughout the whole process of being assessed in the acute ward and admitted to the ward. I don't wish to go into the whole detail of her diagnosis, however we agreed with the doctor's treatment plan (Liverpool Pathway). The following day saw myself and five siblings practically take up residence in my mother's room as we wished to spend every precious moment with her. We took it in turns throughout the day and night to be at her bedside, with some occasions when we were all there. The staff were incredible. They were so understanding, sympathetic, and helpful. They allowed us continuous access and we were very respectful in that we were quiet at all times (though perhaps we could be a wee bit loud when reminiscing during normal visiting times!). Staff were not intrusive and respected our decision to sometimes request that they not move mum. As the week progressed we sought solace, as a family, within 'the sanctuary'. I can't begin to describe how much comfort we gained from having the space to think, and prepare to grieve. 'Spiritual Care for All' is how it is described and the members of the Healthcare Chaplaincy gave us more than comfort; they gave us a lot to think about also. The QEUH is a magnificent facility and Glasgow should be proud to have it!
Royal Alexandra Hospital, Urology - My husband has recently been discharged from Ward 28 for after surgery and I want to thank the staff for their amazing care, he was so well looked after. His whole experience was so much better than either of us dared hope. Thank you very much to the whole team, from surgeon through to the happy catering staff.
Gartnavel General - There are two nurses who work in ward 3A who have been excellent with my 80year old husband who has dementia and has had a half hip replacement. They are so kind and gentle with him, their names are Katy and Caroline. When they are on duty, I feel confident all will be well with him.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I would like to praise and thank all the kind, considerate, helpful staff that dealt with me on Wed morning 12th April 2016 when I attended A&E. I could not have wished for better treatment.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Neurosciences - My mum recently had an operation and stayed in ward 64. The care that she received from the ward staff and her surgeon was great, she was well looked after. The surgeon explained thoroughly what was going to happen and post surgery seen her nearly every day including on her day off I think. My mum felt confident in her surgeon which reassured her before she went through the operation. The nurses cared for her after her operation and made it clear to us (the family) that we could call the ward anytime, this gave us lots of reassurance. The day after my Mum's operation I got a bit upset seeing her, one of the nurses seen that I was struggling and just asked if I was ok which was really nice of her. I can't thank the staff enough for caring for my mum, it made us all feel better when we had to leave my mum every night knowing that she was with a lovely staff team.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - My sister had dental treatment in your Day Surgery department this morning, she is disabled and I am her guardian. I cannot express my thanks and praise of all the team members involved highly enough. The care and attention she received was totally first class. She has had general anaesthetic and dental treatment in the past but never has she received such high quality care and attention. I really want to thank all involved and say bless you all.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - Having had the good fortune in my adult life not to have to depend on NHS for major treatments, I've always regarded them as a "great to have" safety net. This week, however, I needed them so I'm going to actively and obnoxiously support, fight for, VOTE in favour of and promote them always. Thank you staff of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and my super nurses in the community. Very grateful
Royal Hospital for Children - Would like to a thank the staff in A&E and also ward 2c who took excellent care of my son during his stay April 2016.
Stobhill Hospital, Endoscopy - I attended the Endoscopy Unit at Stobhill for a procedure on Monday 11th of April 2016. The care and attention I received from everyone I encountered was exemplary and to be commended. At every stage of my experience I found the staff to be polite, courteous and extremely professional. I would happily nominate the unit for an award for exceptional customer care should you run such a scheme.
Glasgow Royal Infirmary - My mother was admitted to Glasgow Royal Infirmary last Wednesday 6th April 2016, after unsuccessful emergency treatment she unfortunately died on Thursday 7th in the ICU ward east. I'm just wanting to thank all the staff on that shift for their dedication and kindness towards my mum and family members, but I would like to give a special mention to aux nurse called Gemma, the way she looked after my mum and relatives went beyond the call off duty, she made my mum so comfortable until the end as well as making sure everyone was looked after, what a comfort she was to all our grieving family, she deserves a medal. I hope this message gets to her. Once again thank you. Yours Gratefully Daniel
Stobhill - My brother was a Day Surgery Out Patient (ortho list). The care and treatment he received from DSU staff was exceptional. My brother has learning and physical disabilities and staff were very understanding of limitations and facilitated my being with him as much as possible prior to and following the procedures which was greatly appreciated. I'd like my express my thanks and gratitude to all DSU staff.
Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Gastroenterology - I have been admitted twice now for the same issue. First visit to have bowel removed and the second to have a illeostomy reversed. The whole experience from beginning to end was top quality and I could not have asked for better. All of those I came in contact with were exceptionally caring and professional my thanks to Ms Chung and her team. Special thank you to AJ on H for his care and help. A student, who I'm sure will go far. I commend him and the rest of the staff for any awards the board gives. Thanks again
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Spinal Injuries - Received emergency spinal surgery last year and post operative support for a HALO. Phenomenal level of care combined with clarity of communication about what was happening and going to happen.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow - I would like to thank all the staff of ward 8a for all their hard work and patients that they had with us during our 7 week stay. Nothing was to much they answered all the questions and took time to explain. I am sure that all the other patients who I met and spoke to also sang there praises it's not very often you find that many wonderful people in one place. Many thanks and love to you all.
Victoria Hospital - I have just had Knee Arthroscopy, 07/04/2016, and I would like you to pass on my thanks to all the staff, including the surgeon, who helped me during my time in the Victoria Hospital. It is a credit to them all for making me feel relaxed and giving me all the information required from when I was admitted to when I left. Thank you
Victoria Hospital - Endoscopy today, the staff were terrific, kind, sensitive and caring, please pass on my thanks and they should be commended Thank them.
Victoria Hospital - Kind caring sensitive wonderful staff, was there today please pass on my praise and thanks and please commend them. I love our NHS.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Volunteers - I don't usually put down in writing my positive feelings about a service I receive, but my experience at The Queen Elizabeth hospital on Tuesday 4th April 2016 more than merits me letting you know of my experience Just like to say how impressed I was by the help I received when attending the hospital for an appointment as an outpatient to the dermatology dept. First time I have been in the hospital since the massive changes made I entered the large main entrance building and was immediately approached by a lady who asked if I needed help she took me to a console booked me in and directed me to the lifts with clear instructions what floor and where to go when I got off the lift. Without this help I would have been wandering about for ages trying to decipher where I was to go. These assistants are a godsend I hope in the future that these assistants are kept and not subject to cutbacks. As for the rest of my appointment I was greeted at the Dermatology dept. by a courteous and attentive receptionist who checked me in very quickly as I had already booked in. My appointment was at 1430 and I was called at 1430, a first for me in all the times I have attended hospital for an appointment before . The Very qualified nurse who saw me was again courteous, very professional and very quickly made a diagnosis regarding my skin problem. I have read quite a bit of bad press about the hospital since opening, and was a bit apprehensive of my visit. All I can say by my experience if Carlsberg ran a hospital it would be very similar to the experience I had. Thank you for providing me with such a good experience, All the staff I came in contact with, were perfect in all aspects of professionalism and customer care of a very high standard. Many thanks.
Royal Alexandra Hospital - Was admired via A and E with a spiral fracture of right leg early hours 16/11/15. A and E Doctor plus nurses were BEYOND exceptional in their care of me . Was admitted to orthopaedic ward under the care of Mr Nunn and staff, subsequent ankle surgery and various visits to the fracture clinic over the past few months . The treatment I received from this Doctor (and also Mr O'Neill) as well as ALL nursing staff was WAY and beyond first class . I truly cannot thank these ladies and gentlemen enough for their kindness, diligence, care and compassion. They are (all of them ) the epitome of "professionals " care standards are absolutely second to none. Please ensure these orthopaedic Doctors and Nurses (as well as the A and E staff on duty that might ) are recognised and thanked SO very much for all they did for me . It was greatly appreciated.
Royal Hospital for Children, Respiratory - Our wee girl was admitted on Easter Monday with pneumonia. The care she received, and my wife who stayed with her, was outstanding. The only negative comment I would make relates to the appalling parking situation, you need to build more car parks!
Inverclyde Royal Hospital - After hearing so many complaints about the Health Service I just like to say that I'm currently attending IRH as a daily outpatient and the quality of care I've received has nothing short of fantastic and the stall are very dedicated to what they do they make my visits for some unpleasant treatments quite enjoyable. Thank you all very much, you are all worth your weight in gold.
Glasgow Dental Hospital and School - I would like to compliment Dr Don Savarrio on his kind and caring manner. He is an asset to anyone attending the dental hospital. Thank you.
A & E @ GRI. Thank you to patient staff treating my daughter after assault on night out. Also the NAVIGATION staff, may well be the one of the best resources ever introduced to this busy area. Support and advice given...priceless, appeared to bring some calm to upset/disorientated patients in a sometimes not so calm situation/area. Thank you!
