Adult Wards 1 and 3
Each of the two adult wards admits acutely ill patients between 18 – 65 years of age for assessment. The adult wards each have 24 beds consisting of 6 single rooms with en-suite facilities and three 6 bedded dormitories with shared bathrooms.
Mental Health for Older People, Wards 2 and 6
Ward 2 is a 16 bedded ward and admits patients suffering from functional psychiatric ill health illness. The ward consists of two 6 bedded single sex bays and 4 single side rooms with en-suite facilities. Ward 6 is a 21 bedded ward and admits patients suffering from a wide range of organic mental health illness. The ward consists of three 6 bedded bays with shared bathroom and toilet facilities and 3 single rooms with en-suite facilities.
Phoenix House - rehabilitation ward
The ward consists of 8 single room accommodations.

The hospital consists of three adult acute in-patient wards (Wards 1, 3 & 4) and two elderly acute in-patient admission wards (Wards 2 & 6); there is also an eight bedded rehabilitation ward (Phoenix House) which is based in Florence Street. All six wards are mixed sex wards providing psychiatric in-patient services for the East End of Glasgow.

The hospital also has an Occupational Therapy Department, Therapeutic Activity Nurses (the two therapeutic activity nurses work into the three adult acute admission wards) and Advocacy Services. Parkhead Hospital also has input from the Befriending Service, Chaplaincy Service, and Carers Group based in the Easterhouse area of Glasgow.

The hospital has good input from all of the CMHTs, the adult teams are – Auchinlea House (Greater Easterhouse area), Arran Centre (city centre area), Anvil Centre (mid East End of Glasgow), the Homeless Mental health team, the D.A.R.T (Discharge and Resettlement team). The elderly wards have links to the Elderly community mental health team based at Parkview Resource Centre, Shettleston.
