Consultation on proposed changes to Clyde maternity services
This consultation was launched on 27th March and was extended to allow for further responses. It ended on Friday 27th June 2008.
The Board at its meeting on 19 August 2008, unanimously backed recommendations by health planners to retain the full range of services in the community midwifery units (CMUs) at the Vale of Leven Hospital and at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital for a three year period, in line with the recommendations of the Independent Scrutiny Panel. During this time, a full marketing campaign will be undertaken to increase awareness about the option of giving birth in the local midwife-led units.
