Applicants must fulfill the agreed academic criteria for entry into the course. In addition to this applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have participated in some form of extra curricula activities either in school or in another setting. These activities should demonstrate that you are:
Able to analyse information and be capable of independent thought;
Able to solve problems by both planning ahead and by your actions under pressure;
Able to be self motivating and self critical;
Able to work as part of a team and have good interpersonal and communication skills
Able to demonstrate your creativity, spatial awareness and manual dexterity.
Applicants must have a caring nature and a strong sense of professionalism as well as respect for other people’s values and beliefs.
All applicants must have work shadowing experience preferably within a general dental practice or community dental service setting.
Time should have been spent understanding the role of the whole dental team particularly the therapist and hygienist.
