Knowledge Exchange
The Knowledge Exchange function of the PHRU aims to support the public health workforce by facilitating the dissemination and exchange of knowledge and information amongst public health practitioners.
Making use of a comprehensive contact database the PHRU is able to target the public health workforce with a variety of useful information via regular email briefings and newsletters.
The knowledge exchange process is further supported by an extranet site through which users can access, at any time and from any location, the key services of the unit. The extranet site provides access to:
- Key strategic documents and resources
- Information about Public Health seminars
- Upload and share news
- Public Health Resource Library updates
- Knowledge Management resources
- Learning and Development resources and updates
- Information for Health Improvement Managers
- Discussion forums
- Surveys
- Email alert facilities
- Useful links and contacts
Most of the services accessed via the extranet are interactive and users can take advantage of the functionality to promote events, contribute news, conduct surveys, create discussion and upload key documents.
To make full use of the extranet you will need to register and must meet certain criteria. Without registering you can still browse and access a range of useful information and resources.
