The advanced Day Surgery suite has six theatres.

It will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anaesthetists, day surgery nurses, health care support workers and clerical staff.

The department will be supported by 23-hour beds which will enable clinicians to extend the range of procedures offered. The beds will also be used for patients who do not have a carer or access to a phone to stay in hospital overnight to complete their post-surgery recovery.

The beds are located a short distance from the Day Surgery in Ward 7A, Stobhill Hospital.

The pre-assessment clinic, where patients are assessed for suitability for day surgery, is based in general Outpatients.
