Public Health Resource Unit Introduction

The Public Health Resource Unit (PHRU) aims to strengthen the corporate functions of NHSGGC Board to improve health, address inequalities and provide support and resources to the public health workforce across the Glasgow and Clyde area.

The key objectives of the PHRU are to:

  • Align the PHRU programmes with the strategic directives of the Director of Public Health and Head of Inequalities and Health Improvement, in line with the Board's priorities to improve health and address inequalities in health and equity in provision of health services
  • Provide support for the Public Health Networks based around the key functions of the PHRU
  • Ensure evidence is gathered , managed and used to inform policy and practice
  • Establish a process of continuous improvement in relation to the key functions of the PHRU
  • Strengthen the capacity to sustain public health networks through the implementation of the PHRU Knowledge Exchange
