  Important Information

The  West of Scotland Genetics Service is relocating from its current base, to the Laboratory Medicine Block of the Southern General Hospital. This will take place in two stages:

Specimens can continue to be delivered to Yorkhill if the SGH is not part of a regular transport route. If local transport arrangements allow and for specimens sent by taxi delivery should be directly to the Laboratory Medicine Building at SGH (details below).
Any specimens delivered to Yorkhill from the 12th May should be taken to the specimen reception hub (entry is via the Biochemistry Department) and will be forwarded by regular transport to Laboratory Genetics at the Southern General Hospital.

At SGH

Specimens arriving by taxi should be delivered to Level 2. Vehicle access to the Laboratory Medicine building is via Hardgate Road only. Park in the drop-off bay and take further direction at the main reception.
Vans with bulk sample deliveries will access the site from Hardgate Road and present at the main vehicle barrier. The driver should then access the building via the goods entrance and travel to Level 2 via the Goods Lift.
