  • A team of 12 community mental health nurses based in Crown House Community Mental Health Services building
  • Operating as part of integrated community mental health services providing a primary care mental health service to the 17 GP practices in Inverclyde, from Kilmacolm to Wemyss Bay
  • Supported by multidisciplinary colleagues in Crown House in the provision of this service
  • Providing comprehensive mental health assessment and brief psychological therapy follow up (e.g. CBT approaches, behavioural activation approaches psycho education) of approximately 6-8 therapy sessions, the team also runs a behavioural activation group for depression and anxiety
  • Appropriate management of Anxiety, Depression and Adjustment disorders (common mental health problems)
  • Age range to access the service is currently 18 to 65
  • As part of local service re-design older adults can access IPCMHT from 1st March 2013
  • Providing consultation and guidance to GPs regarding signposting to the most appropriate mental health service and community resources within the integrated care pathway
  • Referral to the service is electronic, currently available to the following professionals: GPs , practice nurses, health visitors and colleagues in secondary mental health services
  • Working in partnership with patients, GP Practices and their staff, including GP Trainees
  • Team Leader is Elizabeth McVicar
