Following the successful launch of the Scottish Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) research awards in 2015 we are delighted to announce that the application process for the 2016 awards is now open. We would ask you to please pass this on to all relevant people within your institution and encourage them to apply.
Once again we are recognising research innovation, impact, and personal development in research, but have expanded the 2016 categories to include an award for the best research paper of the past year and the most outstanding PhD conferred in the past year. In addition, a non-clinical award category has been included to recognise the contribution of non-clinical contract researchers to health services research.
The winners in each category will receive up to £350 to be used specifically for activities to further their research careers e.g. conference attendance or training.
The scheme is supported by the chief nursing officer for Scotland Fiona McQueen and is being run by the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Research Unit (NMAHP RU) at the University of Stirling.
By rewarding excellence and showcasing the research currently being done we can encourage talented and up and coming NMAHP and non-clinical researchers to become the research leaders of tomorrow.
Applicants can nominate themselves or their colleagues via the NMAHP RU website, www.nmahp-ru.ac.uk with applications being accepted until 31st July 2016.
Winners will be announced at an event in the autumn in Edinburgh.
