Opportunities for undertaking research training on a full salary, particularly if you are in a senior post, are rare and very competitive. Studentships are offered by HEIs for topics selected by the academic supervisor. A tax-free stipend, fees and research costs associated with the study such as transcription and travel expenses are provided. This may be a feasible option if you are at an early stage of your career. Check university websites and also watch out for adverts.
Yorkhill Research Support Scheme provides funding of up to £60,000 to complete a PhD in a topic of relevance to children's health.
NHS GGC Funding
NHS GGC Bursary Fund provides funding for educational courses.
NES General Nursing Council Fund provides funding of up to £5k and will fund up to two modules which must be completed within one year.
