Dear NHSGGC Colleagues,

We wanted to let you know about the RCNi Nurse Awards 2018, taking place on 04 July 2018 in London!

Here’s information about the event, it would be good if you could pass on to your nurses and encourage them to enter these prestigious awards...

Here is some information about our categories:

Andrew Parker Student Nurse Award 2018
This award is for nursing students who can demonstrate that their nursing practice, perceptions or interactions with patients changed as a result of an incident or experience during training.

Cancer Nursing Award 2018
This award recognises and rewards individual nurses or teams who have improved the quality of care that cancer patients receive at diagnosis, during treatment, and when treatment ends.

Child Health Award 2018
This award recognises and celebrates individual nurses or teams who have used their initiative, insight and skills to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

Community Nursing Award 2018
This award is for individual nurses or teams who work in community, primary care and public health roles. Whether you work in a health centre, general practice, care home, school or in patients' homes, we want to hear about your innovation and good practice.

Emergency Nursing Award 2018
This award celebrates individual nurses or teams of nurses who work in emergency care settings. We want to hear about your innovations, best practice, new initiatives and inspirational stories of how you have improved patient care within emergency care environments.

Healthcare Assistant Award 2018
This award recognises and rewards individuals working in a healthcare support role such as healthcare assistants (HCAs) and assistant practitioners (APs) who work under the guidance of a registered nurse, health visitor or midwife.

Leadership Award 2018
This award is for nurse leaders who have developed initiatives to ensure their ward, unit or team delivers the highest quality and safest care possible.

Learning Disability Nursing Award 2018
This award recognises and celebrates individual nurses or teams who have used their initiative, insight and skills to make a real difference to the health, wellbeing and social inclusion of people with learning disabilities.

Mental Health Nursing Award 2018
This award is for nurses who can demonstrate how their innovative approach to nursing people with mental health problems has inspired service users and colleagues, and created positive outcomes in the lives of people they care for.

Nursing Older People Award 2018
This award recognises and rewards individual older people’s nurses or teams who have enabled older people to live independently at home for as long as possible, improved their experience in residential and/or care homes, or improved their care in acute hospital settings.

Patient’s Choice Award 2018
The Patient's Choice Award is for members of the public to thank a nurse, midwife, health visitor, healthcare assistant or assistant practitioner who has made a real difference to their or a loved one's healthcare.

Excellence in Cancer Research Award 2018
This award recognises individual cancer research nurses or research teams who are involved in clinical trials research to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose or treat cancer and improve patient outcomes. Applications are welcomed from those working on clinical trials in cancer, those entering as or on behalf of a clinical research nurse, or as part of a research team that includes cancer nurses.

Commitment to Carers Award 2018
This award is for nurse, or team of nurses, who have developed initiatives to support carers and who can demonstrate that their initiative has had a positive impact on carers’ own physical and mental health as well as improving the health outcomes for the person being cared for.

Innovations in your Specialty Award 2018
This award recognises individual nurses or teams of nurses who have implemented new projects or initiated innovative processes that have resulted in a real difference to patient care within any specialty or nursing environment.
