Guide for Adults at risk

Preventing Pressure Ulcers - A guide for adults at risk of pressure ulcers

Prevention of pressure ulcers is key and professional staff, patients, and their carers have a role to play. For professionals, there is a need to ensure a unified approach to skin inspection and care planning from the moment an ‘at risk’ patient comes under our care. Patients and their carers also play an important role in the prevention of pressure damage/ulcers.

A booklet, developed through the National Tissue Viability Programme has been widely circulated throughout GGC and should be made available to patients and their carers.

Copies of the booklet are available free from the Public Health Resource Unit. The booklet Preventing Pressure Ulcers - A guide for adults at risk of pressure ulcers is listed under the Health & Wellbeing section of the PHRU Publications Directory.
