Recording ANPs

Recognition of Advanced Nurse Practitioner posts in NHSGGC

Process for Reviewing Potential ANP Posts

There is a two stage process to identify ANPs in NHSGG & C.

The process is outlined in this flowchart:

Stage 1 - the GG&C Advanced Practice Group will review submitted evidence and will make one of 3 recommendations:

a) There is sufficient evidence to demonstrate the post is an ANP post

b) There is currently insufficient evidence to demonstrate the post is an ANP post

c) Submitted evidence does not support the post being a clinical Advanced Nurse Practitioner post.

Stage 2 - The Directorate/Partnership/CHCP confirms that the individual in an ANP post has completed the required training (as set out in their Job Description). The individual's entry on SWISS is then annotated.
