DocMan

Docman is the document management system used by all GP Practices in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. You will use Docman to view existing documents belonging to your patients and, through the Docman workflow, deal with new patient correspondence as it comes into the practice. How you use Docman will depend on your role in the practice. As a GP you will need to know the following.

  • How to deal with mail that has been Workflowed to you

If you are a new GP joining a practice you  may be given some Docman training, by a member of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s Proactive Support - Contractor Services team, as part of a visit to show you the clinical system; EMIS or Vision and SCI Gateway. Alternatively, your GP practice may choose to carry out the training you require themselves. As the use of Docman, particularly when it comes to the workflow, can be very individual and bespoke for each individual practice, the Practice Manager or another GP would need to explain how the mail is moved electronically through the practice within Docman workflow and how the GP should action their mail appropriately and in line with practice processes.
