Online Training

This training provides staff with a very basic introduction to child protection Induction

The aim of this training is to ensure that course members have an up-to-date awareness of Child Protection procedures and guidelines along with an awareness of their responsibilities.

Foundation

The aim of this training is to ensure that course members have an up to date awareness of Child Protection procedures and guidelines along with an awareness of their responsibilities

Case Conference
The aim of this training is to provide an opportunity for those members of staff who are likely to be invited to a Child Protection Case Conferences and / or cited for Sheriff Court (to give professional evidence) to develop a basic understanding of the processes involved.


Report Writing and Record Keeping
The aim of this training is to examine the role and importance of record keeping and report writing and to raise awareness of the need for effective record keeping and report writing and its impact on life of children and their families

Child Protection and Parental Substance Misuse
The aim of this short introductory course is to raise awareness of Child Protection issues that may be associated with parental substance misuse and staff’s responsibilities to children in families where these problems exist. The focus of this course is not on the adult e.g. treatment options but instead on the interface between child protection and parental substance misuse.

Child Protection and Parental Mental Health
The aim of this short course is to raise awareness of Child Protection issues that may be associated with Parental Mental health problems and staff,s responsibility to children in families where these problems exist.

Risk Assessment
The aim of this short course is to provide participants with an understanding of the principles of assessment and risk assessment, to explore in more detail the concepts of vulnerability, resilience, adversity and protective environment and to focus on the national Framework for Assessment.

Parental Learning and Disability
The aim of this short course is to raise awareness of potential Child Protection issues that may arise in working in families where there is parental learning disability.

Working with Un Co operative Children and Families
The aim of this short course is to provide participants with an understanding of the principles of working with families who are unco-operative and / or hostile.

Emergency Department Module
The aim of this short course is to build on Foundation (Level 2) Training and increase knowledge of child protection in an Emergency Department setting.

Attachment and Parenting
The aims of this short introductory course are to introduce the concept of attachment, to further an understanding of potential difficulties in parent-child relationships and to contribute to the assessment process.

Domestic Abuse

The aim of this introductory course is to raise awareness of child protection issues that are associated with domestic abuse.

Learning from Enquires

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of recurring themes in incidents/child death reviews. It encourages staff to share relevant information and to seek advice when unsure.


Neglect
The aim of this course is to raise awareness of neglect within child protection, allow opportunity for reflection and thought about neglect within our own professional area and explore some of the theory and tools to aid understanding and interventions in neglect.

Child Protection and Black and Minority Ethnic

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of Child Protection issues that may arise in Black/White or Ethnic minority families .
