NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde recognises the value of its workforce and is committed to supporting staff to provide high quality patient care. In collaboration with our neighbouring health boards we have developed a Care Assurance (CAS) Framework which is designed to help nurses, midwives and allied health professionals to demonstrate the quality of clinical care delivered by clinical teams.
CAS allows for the quality of care experienced by patients, relatives, carers and staff to be consistency demonstrated, communicated openly and with success positively celebrated.
The framework and standards clearly supports our “Facing the Future Together” organisational values and behaviours which are the fundamental values of nursing, midwifery and AHP staff.
The Link person ( Nurse/Midwife, all AHP's, Pharmacy staff ) is an integral role to introduce to ensure we embed the CAS Framework and its 13 professional care standards into our clinical teams and areas.
The definition and focus of this remit is about having a subject specific champion, whose proactive knowledge & skills for change and improvement will support Senior Charge Nurse/Midwives and their teams to implement the CAS standards.
