Rona Sweeney became a Non-Executive member of the NHS Board on 1st July 2016.
Rona has 30 years public sector experience the majority of which is from within the criminal justice system. She worked in the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) for over 25 years and held posts including Governor of HMP Shotts and Director of Prisons. In this latter role she was the Operational lead for the SPS and Board member with responsibilities including operational readiness, forensic psychology services and performance in all public sector operated prisons.
Rona also brings experience as a Senior Civil Servant in the Scottish Government where she worked in the area of fair work, employability and skills.
