Linda de Caestecker became a member of the NHS Board in January 2007.
Linda joined NHS Greater Glasgow in 1993 as a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and was appointed Director of Public Health, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, in November 2006. She worked at the (then) Scottish Executive, leading their Women and Children’s Unit 2003-2005. She is an honorary professor at the University of Glasgow.
During 2016 and 2017 she undertook a year’s extended leave of absence to work for the international charity, FIGO, promoting women’s health in low resource countries, returning to her Director of Public Health post in August 2017. She continues to have a special interest in maternal and child public health.
