Dr Heather Cameron - Chair of the Area Clinical Forum was appointed as a Non Executive Member of the NHS Board on 1st September 2013.
After completing her physiotherapy training in Aberdeen, Dr Cameron worked in a number of hospitals in Merseyside, prior to specialising in Pain Medicine at The Walton Centre in Liverpool. In 2004, she was awarded a Department of Health fellowship to undertake her PhD investigating the neural correlates of pain. She returned to Scotland to take up her current position as Physiotherapy Professional Lead in NHSGGC in 2008.
She has contributed to a range of clinical guidelines, most recently the SIGN Guideline on the Management of Chronic Pain and served on a number of health related local and national committees. She is an elected council member and trustee of the British Pain Society and vice chair of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Scotland Board.
After being elected Chair of the Area Clinical Forum, Dr Cameron was appointed as a Non-Executive Member of Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board in Sept 2013. She brings to the Board her experience of specialist clinical practice, higher education and senior management. Dr Cameron does not hold any other Ministerial public appointments.
