East Dunbartonshire Community Health Partnership’s Oral Health Action Team is celebrating another 17 pre five establishments achieving the Smile Too Oral Health Accreditation.
Awards will be presented to the 17 pre five establishments at a special ceremony this Thursday.
The initiative introduces tooth brushing and healthy eating as an every day practice for young children and their parents and/or carers, as well as providing tooth brushing packs for the children to use at home.
The CHP works in partnership with all 53 pre-5 establishments across East Dunbartonshire, supporting and promoting the Smile Too oral health programme and since 2008 33 pre five establishments have successfully achieved Smile Too Accreditation.
Karen Murray, Director of the East Dunbartonshire CHP, said that she was delighted to see so many nurseries participating in this programme and offers her congratulations to those that are being recognised at this event.
Mrs Murray continued: “As part of our long term approach to improving the health of everyone who lives in East Dunbartonshire, the Smile Too initiative, establishes an excellent opportunity for children to adopt positive steps that will benefit them in later life.”
