Victoria Infirmary staff officially opened a new local Tesco Express store and “checked” out with a cheque for £500!

Lead Nurse Mhairi Lloyd and Sister Lindsay McPhee, from the Infirmary’s A&E Department, were the guests of honour when the store on Millbrae Road, Glasgow recently opened and were on-hand to cut a ribbon to declare the new store officially open for business!

As part of the opening celebrations, store manager Liz Daniels and her staff presented Mhairi and Lindsay with a cheque for £500. The store chose to donate to the Infirmary as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.

Sister McPhee said: “I would like to thank Tesco for the kind donation. We are potentially looking to use the money to purchase a piece of kit to help with Non Invasive Ventilation, which is a way of supporting a patients breathing when they are having difficulties.”

Tesco Express store manager Liz said: “We were delighted to be able to support our local hospital, as they are a wonderful community organisation. We are so pleased that Mhairi and Lindsay came to launch the new store, and join in the celebrations with us.”
