GP Practices in Gourock, Greenock, Port Glasgow and Kilmacolm will be closed for staff training on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th June 2006 from 1pm. All other non-GP services in health centres and clinics throughout Inverclyde will be running as normal.
NHS 24 - 08454 24 24 24 - will be in operation during this period for any health queries and the public are advised that in a life-threatening emergency they should always dial 999 for an ambulance.

"If patients require URGENT attention from a Doctor between 1pm on Wednesday 14th June and 8.00am on Thursday 15th June they should contact:
"All GP Practices in Inverclyde will be closing on Wednesday 14th June from 1pm for staff training. Practices will not re-open until Thursday 15thh June at normal surgery hours.
"Community Nursing, GP Practices and their staff do not often get the chance to learn and develop their skills and knowledge together. NHS 24 have now given GP Practices in Inverclyde the opportunity to get together to address staff training requirements; and develop training sessions to suits the needs of the Patient, GP Practice and changing systems and legislation.
"GP Practices and Community Nursing are looking at ways that they can improve the care that they are able to offer their patients. As change develops within GP Practices and Nursing, training and development of staff, needs to be addressed.
