Dr Chris Twelves, University of Glasgow Reader in Medical Oncology and an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Beatson Oncology Centre, has accepted a Professorship at the University of Leeds.

Dr Twelves, who has worked in Glasgow for eight and a half years, will take up his promoted post as Chair of Clinical Cancer Pharmacology in Leeds during May.

Dr Adam Bryson, Interim Director of the Beatson Oncology Centre where Dr Twelves works half-time, said: "Of course we will be sorry to say 'goodbye' to Dr Twelves, but we recognise the significance of his important new appointment. Indeed, it is a tribute to the very high calibre of the team at the Centre, and we all offer him our warmest congratulations."

Dr Twelves' patient care commitments at the Beatson Oncology Centre will be covered by locum Consultants pending the outcome of a recruitment process led by the University of Glasgow.
