WINTER VOMITTING - SOUTH GLASGOW UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS TRUST

Only two wards at the Mansionhouse Unit remain closed to new admissions today following an outbreak of the Winter Vomiting Virus.  3 patients at the Mansionhouse Unit and 1 patient at the Victoria Infirmary are currently showing symptoms.

Over the weekend and today the one remaining closed ward at the Victoria Infirmary and 2 wards at the Mansionhouse Unit were reopened.

As previously reported, a ward in the Victoria Infirmary was closed to new admissions on Tuesday 18 November and a second ward at the Victoria Infirmary and a ward at the Mansionhouse Unit were closed to new admissions on Thursday 20 November 2003.  A ward at the Victoria Infirmary and a ward at the Mansionhouse Unit were closed to new admissions over the weekend.  Three wards at the Mansionhouse Unit were closed to new admissions on Monday 24 November 2003.  One Ward at the Victoria Infirmary re-opened to new admissions on Tuesday 25 November 2003 while another Ward was closed to new admissions.  One Ward at the Victoria Infirmary and one ward at the Mansionhouse Unit re-opened to new admissions on Thursday 27 November 2003.  Two Wards at the Victoria Infirmary re-opened to new admissions on Friday 28 November while one Ward at the Victoria Infirmary, not previously affected, was closed to new admissions.  One ward at the Mansiohouse Unit re-opened over the weekend and one ward at the Mansionhouse Unit and one ward at the Victoria Infirmary re-opened today
