A ward in the Victoria Infirmary was closed to new admissions earlier in the week (on Tuesday) again due to the Winter Vomiting Virus.  3 patients are today showing symptoms.

The normal extra infection control precautions have been put in place.

There have been no other problems reported elsewhere in these hospitals.

Dr Syed Ahmed, Consultant in Public Health Medicine, said "This is not unusual for this time of the year.  Wards have been closed as a precautionary measure and we are working closely with the hospital infection control team to monitor the situation."
