Please read below about the new hospitals, health & care centres and healthcare facilities that we have built in the last five years and since our 65th anniversary in NHSGGC.
The brand new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow (adult) building is one of the largest and advanced acute hospitals in the UK and home to major specialist services such as renal medicine, transplantation and vascular surgery, with state-of-the-art critical care, theatre and diagnostic services.
Adjoining the new adult hospital is the brand new children's hospital, with a separate identity and entrance. It replaces the former Royal Hospital for Sick Children located in Yorkhill and renamed the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.
Both were built on the site of the former Southern General Hospital.
Her Majesty The Queen officially opened the new South Glasgow Hospitals and the Teaching and Learning Centre.
The official opening took place on 3 July 2015.

The contemporary healthcare facility of Orchard View was built on the grounds of Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
